Over 200 student-athletes comprised Suffolk Athletics’ 13 varsity teams and now Ram Nation has the chance to get the whole picture of the 2015-16 year and the Rams successes in competition, the classroom and the community.
The GNAC has announced the names of 865 student-athletes – including 54 from Suffolk – who have been named to the 2015-16 Academic All-GNAC Team. The 54 Rams represent the second most all-time for the blue-and-gold and is just two individuals shy of the record (56) since the inaugural team in 2008.
Suffolk athletics saw some memorable milestones, postseason peaks, record setting moments, honors and more over the 2015-16 seasons. Now is the time to pit the best of the best against one another in a bracket-style competition to see what Ram Nation dubs as the Top Moment of the Year.
A total of 144 Suffolk University student-athletes have earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the 2016 Spring Quarter. To make the Director’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.0 and pass at least 12 quarter units.
The Suffolk University Department of Athletics, its 232 student-athletes, coaches and distinguished guests gathered in celebration of the Rams’ 2015-16 Varsity Seasons in the annual athletics banquet Monday night at 20 Somerset.
The Suffolk University Athletics Department is proud to announce the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll of the 2015 Fall Semester. 206 student-athletes were enrolled in full-time classes this fall and 146 achieve a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Overall, the department maintained a 3.19 GPA average on the semester between its 13 varsity intercollegiate teams.
The Suffolk cross country teams competed at the GNAC Championships held at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine yesterday afternoon with the Rams’ men finishing sixth and the women taking eighth.
The Suffolk cross country teams will take their respective courses in Standish, Maine with their GNAC counterparts Saturday afternoon with the winners taking home the conference crowns. The women’s 5k race is set to begin at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s 8k race at 2 p.m. The University of Saint Joseph’s Maine will serve as host of the championships.
