BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer takes its talents to Springfield, Massachusetts, Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Coast Conference match with the Golden Bears.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball returned to Commonwealth Coast Conference play in sweeping fashion as the Rams rolled past Curry, 3-0, Tuesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The league win came via set scores 25-18, 25-14 and 25-18.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk returned to the win column Tuesday night with a straight set win over Curry to sit 11-7 on the season and 2-0 in CCC contests.  

The Rams' 10.98 kps offense is paced by McKenna Keowen's 2.54 kps with Jessica Weber's 2.40 kps following closely behind. The twosome of Jayla Martinez (4.86 aps) and Aislinn Lanigan (3.70 aps) have shared the setter role for Suffolk. Keowen adds 0.73 aces per set, while Morgan Kelsey pitches in 0.70 aces per set. 

Kelsey's 4.10 dps leads the defense that receives 3.08 dps from Keowen and 2.68 dps by Tatum KaltGrace Cervenka and Sami Shore anchor the effort at the net with 0.68 bps each. 

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England swept Mount Holyoke Friday to move to 7-8 on the year. In conference contests, the Golden Bears defeated the University of New England, 3-1, to head into Wednesday's match 1-0 against league foes. 

Alissa Hawes and Isabelle Petty power the offense with 2.91 kps and 2.20 kps, respectively. Hailey Sell (5.31 aps) and Taylor Geist (4.61 aps) share the Golden Bears' setter role.  

Defensively, Becca Mayer's 4.67 dps leads the way. Elizabeth Long adds 2.88 dps and Petty pitches in 0.61 bps.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk trails the all-time series, which dates back to 2003, 4-6. 
  • The Rams have rattled off three straight wins together over the Golden Bears including last year's 3-1 win.
  • Three matches have been decided in straight set fashion. Suffolk is 1-2 in such instances.
  • Five outings were determined in four sets including two of Suffolk's wins.

The Rams will host CCC foe Gordon and Fisher in a tri-match Saturday, Oct. 14. Suffolk will first face the Fighting Scots at 11 a.m., before battling the Falcons at 3 p.m.
