Volleyball Silenced in Straight Sets at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – Suffolk volleyball slipped in straight sets to Regis Saturday morning at Higgins Gymnasium. The Rams lost to the Pride 3-0 via set scores 28-26, 25-17 and 25-17.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Regis 3
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-5) | Regis (3-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first frame tied seven times with the second to last coming at 25-all. An attack error by the Pride allowed the Rams to go up one, but the host rattled off three straight to wrap up the first set, 28-26.

Both the second and third sets ended by identical 25-17 margins.

In the second, Regis broke open an 8-all tie with three straight points to grab an 11-8 advantage. That turned into a 20-12 cushion for the Pride. That deficit proved to be the difference as the teams traded points the rest of the way.

The third saw Regis grab a 5-1 lead that blossomed into a 12-6 distance. Suffolk clawed back within two, 15-13, but seven straight points by the Pride made things lopsided again, 22-13. The Rams put up four unanswered to make things interesting, but a timeout by Regis helped the host settle down as it scored three in a row out of the huddle to lock up the victory.
