BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball snapped its five-match skid with a straight set victory over Mitchell Thursday night at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The sweep came by set scores 25-18, 25-11 and 25-13.
THE BASICS

SET ONE RECAP (25-18, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk climbed out of a 3-0 hole to tie the game at 6-all and take the lead on a McKenna Keowen kill.
- The Rams made it a 9-6 gap to force Mitchell into a timeout.
- Out of the break Suffolk kept up the pace to take a six-point lead, which it clung to most of the way including at 19-13.
- The Mariners took their second timeout of the set and this time the huddle helped as the visitors went on a 5-1 stretch to pull within two, 20-18.
- Suffolk scored the next five points to clinch the frame.
SET TWO RECAP (25-11, SUFFOLK)
- The Rams put the first five points on the board and that foreshadowed the 14-4 cushion at the midway point.
- Suffolk did not take its foot off the gas out of a Mariners' timeout, which turned a 21-10 lead into a 25-11 set win.
SET THREE RECAP (25-13, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk's second set momentum carried into the third as the hosts leaped ahead, 12-2.
- The Mariners looked to make a push, however, the Rams kept Mitchell at a double-digit distance the rest of the way to seal up the sweep.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Suffolk's 33-kill attack was well balanced with nine different players providing at least one kill with Keowen's eight-kill effort leading the way.
- Harmony Johnson contributed seven kills, 14 assists and three aces to the offense.
- Julia Leavey added six kills.
- Gabby Elbrecht (8 assists), Jayla Martinez (5 assists) and Kenzley Bell (5 assists) helped set-up the offense.
- Bell anchored the defense with 14 digs.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk snapped a five-match skid.
- The Rams remain unbeaten all-time against Mitchell, 2-0.
- Suffolk met Mitchell for the second time overall, first since Sept. 1, 2021.
- The Rams hosted Mitchell in Boston for the first time.
