NEW LONDON, Conn. – Suffolk women's volleyball concluded its tri-match with a straight set victory over the host Albertus Saturday afternoon at Yarnell Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus Magnus managed to jump ahead in the first and second set, but Suffolk rallied back in each to go ahead 2-0. In the third, the Rams easily put things away from the get-go.
SET ONE RECAP (25-14, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk fell behind 8-5 before it rallied on a 5-0 spurt to gain control, 10-8.
- Albertus Magnus broke up the stretch, but the host only put up one point before the Rams scored 12 straight to make things lopsided, 22-9.
- The Falcons had no chance to comeback even outscoring the Rams 5-3 down the stretch.
SET TWO RECAP (25-16, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk found itself in a 9-2 hole.
- Alina Nowakowski jump started a 6-0 Suffolk stretch that pulled the visitors within one, 9-8.
- The teams traded points before Morgan Kelsey coupled back-to-back aces together to push the Rams in front, 11-10.
- That edge was short lived as the Falcons regained control, 13-11.
- The score would level twice more before the Rams put things away on an 11-2 run.
SET THREE RECAP (25-16, SUFFOLK)
- It was all Suffolk from the get-go as the Rams jump ahead to an 8-3 lead that quickly bloomed to 14-6 at the midway point.
- A see-saw affair followed, but it would not be enough to take things away from Suffolk. =
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- McKenna Kewowen registered nine kills, six digs and a pair of aces.
- Nowakowski provided nine kills and six digs.
- Jasmine James and Julia Leavey each had five kills.
- Harmony Johnson notched 16 assists, seven aces and two digs.
- Jayla Martinez added nine assists.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk opened the year 2-1 for the first time since beginning 2016 with three consecutive victories.
- The Rams rattled off their ninth straight win over Albertus Magnus to move to 21-3.
- The Rams and Falcons have faced off in 12 straight set outings with Suffolk owning a 11-12 record in them.
- Suffolk's 19 aces are the most since posting 26 in a straight set decision over Pine Manor Sept. 11, 2021.
