BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey last full weekend of the regular-season is around the corner, and it features a pair of Commonwealth Coast Conference contests against Salve Regina and Endicott. The Rams will first entertain the Seahawks in a Senior Night affair Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink, before they head to Beverly, Massachusetts, Saturday, Feb. 11 for a 3 p.m. outing with the Gulls.

LAST TIME OUT
Sam Molind put on her hero cape with 2:39 remaining in overtime as the sophomore connected on a penalty shot to push Suffolk women's hockey to a 3-2 Commonwealth Coast Conference win over Nichols Saturday at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is unbeaten (5-0-1) in its last six games and holds first place in the CCC standings with a 12-1-1 league ledger. Overall, the Rams sit 14-5-2.  

Miranda Gaudet and Shana Cote have each hit the 20-point mark on the year to pace the blue-and-gold's 64-goals offense. Gaudet leads the way with 22 behind a team-best 15 assists to go along with seven goals. Cote, meanwhile, has a nearly evenly divided 21-point stat line with a squad-high 11 strikes and 10 helpers. 

Lily O'Neil has taken on the bulk of the workload in between the pipes. In 17 games played, all starts, she has assembled a 1.58 GAA and .937 save percentage. Julia McLellan (1-0-1, 0.57 GAA, .978 save %) and Hannah Gordon (3-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .941 save percentage) are unbeaten in net this season in their appearances. 

SEAHAWKS SAYINGS
Salve Regina fell at Western New England, 3-2, in last outing to move to 9-12-0 on the year and 4-11-0 in CCC contests.  

Riley Esposito is the largest offensive threat for the Seahawks. The freshman forward leads the team in all offensive categories with nine goals and five assists to be the lone skater in double figures in points (14). Maddie Cox is on the figure of double-digit points with nine on five goals and four set-ups.  

In net, Sydney Baxter and Ellee Kopecky have split most of the action. Baxter brings in a 1.83 GAA and .933 save percentage, while Kopecky holds a 2.87 GAA and .900 save percentage. Both have played in 11 games. 

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept the CCC home-and-home series with Salve Regina earlier this season. The Rams shutout the Seahawks in the opener, 2-0, Nov. 4, 2022, before putting together a 5-1 offensive onslaught over SRU in Eastie a day later.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is unbeaten, 5-0-0, all-time versus Salve Regina.

EYES ON THE GAME

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott has rattled off three wins in a row, outscoring their foes 18-2 in the last trio of games. The Gulls 12-7-2 overall mark and 10-4-0 CCC record will best tested at the University of New England Friday night before they host Suffolk Saturday.  

Offensively, Endicott has found the back of the net 65 times this season. The scoring has been well spread out with seven different players in double figures lead by the threesome of Emmerson Hayes (4g, 12a), Samantha Fantasia (9g, 6a) and Kat Keith (7g, 8a).

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk and Endicott split the CCC home-and-home series earlier this season as both teams locked up 2-1 decision over one another. The Gulls took the opener in Eastie and the Rams won the battle in Beverly.
