Csiki-Fejer Runs at NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Matyas Csiki-Fejer made history Saturday as he became the first Suffolk male student-athlete to represent the Rams at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. The senior captain cruised to a ninth-place finish in the 3000 at the JDL Fast Track.

Csiki-Fejer was a fixture in the top five pack of the 20-runner field throughout the 15 laps. The Manchester, Missouri's competition turned things up over the final few rounds and his second-place at the 2400 mark dipped down to third 200 meters later and fifth 200 meters after that. Over the final 200, Csiki-Fejer dipped four more spots to take ninth overall with a time of 8:20.161. He missed All-American status, which is presented to the top-eight performers, by less than second as John Carroll's Jamie Dailey edged him out at the last second in 8:19.947.

Overall, Csiki-Fejer is the third Ram in program history to compete at the highest indoor competition and first since Emily Manfra garnered All-America status of her own in the mile in 2019.
