Suffolk Athletics is proud to partner with multiple Suffolk University departments to introduce a new program called Suffolk Progress. Through participation in physical activity, personal development and community-building activities, this program will provide opportunities for members of Ram Nation to progress throughout their time in blue-and-gold.

Suffolk Progress has been created by Suffolk Athletics in conjunction with Career Services, Student Leadership and Involvement and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, to help all student-athletes discover what Suffolk University has to offer, both during their playing days and after.

Suffolk Progress will guide student-athletes to learn about themselves throughout the college experience. Each class year will navigate a unique mission centered around the program’s three pillars – career, leadership and community – to aid in its success while at Suffolk and in the future.

  • Freshman: DISCOVER - Why I’m Here
  • Sophomores:DEVELOP - Building Blocks
  • Juniors: DEDICATE - Experiential Opportunities
  • Seniors: After the Game

Throughout the first three years of Suffolk Progress, student-athletes will dive into the three D’s of the NCAA Division III Philosophy – Discover, Develop, Dedicate – and how they relate to themselves at Suffolk and beyond.

DISCOVER: All first-year student-athletes will discover the Ram Nation culture together with this program designed to help answer the question, ‘Why I’m Here?’ Through bi-monthly panels, the Rams’ rookies will learn the different offices that may assist them throughout their time in Boston, both athletically and academically.

DEVELOP: Sophomore year is when the building blocks for success outside of Suffolk will truly develop. Each developmental meeting with center around decision on majors that will lead to creating profiles for career services such as resumes building, as well as networking through alumni panels.

DEDICATE: With the skills and building blocks in place, junior year is when student-athletes are reaching their full potential. Here, they can dedicate their time to hands-on, experiential opportunities, such as internships.

As seniors, the fundamentals of Discover, Develop and Dedicate will be grouped into one for life after the game with the main concentration going towards the job search whether it be resume tuning or networking.
