view in landscape for a better experience

COACH'S CORNER

Will Feldman returns for his fifth season at the helm of the Suffolk cross country and track & field programs.

He has brought the Rams to regional and national success in his short term at the helm including two cross country runners – a male and female – competing at NCAA Division III Championships.

Aiding Feldman as an assistant coach this season is Josh Brodin.

SCHEDULE SYNOPSIS

Suffolk cross country is in store for six races over a nine-week span in addition to postseason appearances in 2021.

We're looking forward to finally getting back onto the course and competing this season. We've built a challenging schedule this season, and it should have us prepared to compete for a conference championship this year.
  • 09.03 Suffolk Short Course Classic
  • 09.18 UMass Dartmouth Invitational
  • 10.01 Paul Short Invitational
  • 10.09 James Earley Invite
  • 10.16 Battle for Boston Common
  • 10.16 Suffolk Invite
  • 10.30 CCC Championships
  • 11.13 NCAA East Regionals
  • 11.20 NCAA Championships

SUFFOLK INVITE

Suffolk will be hosting its third Suffolk Invite on Saturday, Oct. 16.

This year more than 1,000 runners are expected to race at Franklin Park, especially with the NCAA Division III East Regionals set to take place on the same course Saturday, Nov. 13.

BATTLE FOR BOSTON COMMON

For the third time, Suffolk will go head-to-head with its Beantown neighbor, Emerson.

The Rams have won both matchups in the short history of the friendly competition.

NCAA D3 EAST REGIONALS

After a region realignment and expansion of NCAA Division III cross country, the NCAA has awarded East Regional Championships hosting rights to Suffolk in the city of Boston for the 2021 campaign. The hosting gig is the Rams' first-ever across any sport in the University's Athletic program history, which spans over 75 years.

Suffolk's cross country program is thrilled to be hosting the NCAA DIII East Regional Championship this November. It's a tremendous honor that only a handful of programs have been fortunate to have … I think it's a great testament to the hard work that the student-athletes, coaches and administrators at Suffolk University have put into the cross country program over the last four years.

2021-22 SUFFOLK FAN POLICY

Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

RAMS ROSTER

Suffolk has 19 Rams on roster for the 2021 campaign.

class categories

Suffolk's line-up is underclassmen heavy with nine true freshmen and five sophomores. The Rams' experience lies in a trio of seniors and a pair of juniors.

GEOGRAPHY 101

The Rams roster is split in half between Massachusetts locals with nine Bay state residents. California and New York are represented by a pair of runners each with one student-athlete from Illinois Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, respectively.

Rams rookies

Head coach Will Feldman has unveiled that nine true freshmen will add depth to an already experienced Suffolk women's cross country roster for the upcoming 2021 season.

I'm extremely pleased with the freshman class that is joining us this fall. We will be counting on them to be key contributors when championship season beings. I love the depth this group brings to the team, and we will be real title contenders because of it.
