Ashley Fahey returns to the Suffolk volleyball program in a new role in 2021 as the Rams’ alum begins her first year as a graduate assistant on Scott Blanchard’s staff after a four-year career on the court.

Blanchard has given Fahey her first coaching opportunity while she works towards her Masters in Crime and Justice Studies with a Victim Advocacy Concentration. Alongside her coaching responsibilities, Fahey will work in the Suffolk Athletic department.

Fahey, a Billerica, Massachusetts, product, competed for the blue-and-gold from 2017-21 and helped the Rams to a historic season as a junior in 2019. That squad compiled the winningest record in the program’s history with a 20-12 ledger. That year Suffolk won its first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinals home match and did so in sweeping fashion against Colby Sawyer DATE to advance to the conference semifinals for the second straight season.

The outside hitter/defensive specialist appeared in 125 sets over 55 matches in her three seasons as a player at Suffolk after having her senior season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She served 13 assists, had 131 digs, 20 kills, 11 assists and four blocks throughout her career.

Fahey was acknowledged for academic accomplishments as an undergraduate, who earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Crime & Justice with a minor in Psychology in 2021, with a spot on the CCC All-Academic Team in 2020 and a pair of GNAC All-Academic Team nods in 2018-19 and 2019-20, respectively.
