BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk volleyball garnered the fourth seed in the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament as announced in the official tournament bracket released by the league office over the weekend.  

The Rams, who tied the regular-season win mark with a 19-9 overall record, also produced the best league ledger since joining the CCC two years ago with a 6-3 conference record. Suffolk earned the fourth spot after beating out Salve Regina (15-9, 6-3 CCC) in a tiebreaker thanks to the blue-and-gold's 3-1 regular-season triumph over the Seahawks Oct. 12. The Rams and Salve Regina will meet in the postseason for the first time. 

The 2022 CCC Quarterfinals ships SRU to the Rams' home hardwood, Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a 7 p.m. first serve. 

Suffolk's second-ever CCC tourney appearance marks the Rams 16th playoff trip. The Rams, who matched the highest seed in a conference postseason in program history, will remain on Beacon Hill for the third time overall and first time since 2019. The blue-and-gold looks to escape the quarterfinals for the first time in the CCC era, first time since 2019 and third time overall. 

The winner of Tuesday's tilt earns its spot in the semifinals Thursday, Nov. 3 against the victor of the No. 1 Gordon, No. 8 University of New England showdown.
