Bell Picks Up Second Libero of the Week

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Kenzley Bell of Suffolk volleyball earned her second CCC Libero of the Week recognition after her standout showing in a four-set victory over Salve Regina, the league office announced Monday. 

Bell, a senior captain from Lake Park, Georgia, had an impressive 29 digs in Suffolk's four set conference triumph over the Seahawks Wednesday. The big number of pickups averaged out to 7.25 dis per set. She added a pair of assists in the victory.  

The new weekly award pushes Suffolk total to six, two of which Belong to Bell in the form of liber of the week. Her first recognition came Oct. 3. Grace Cervenka owns a pair of accolades as well with two rookies of the week nods. Jess Weber was named the best rookie over a seven-day stretch Sept. 6. That same week McKenna Keowen was tabbed the conference's best player of the week.

Bell has been the backbone of Suffolk's defense this season. She solidified herself as one of the all-time great liberos Saturday, Oct. 8 versus Manhattanville when she became the third Ram in program history to join the 1,000-dig club. She currently sits third all-time in digs with 1,033 behind Colbey Kennedy (1,250) and Dakhensey Marcellus (1,074).  

Suffolk has a full week in store with three matches over four days. Road matches at Roger Williams (Oct. 18) and Curry (Oct. 21) sandwich a home bout with Albertus Magnus (Oct. 20).
