Johnson, Weber Named to ENC Invitational Tournament Team

QUINCY, Mass. – Harmony Johnson and Jess Weber of the Suffolk volleyball team earned a spot on the ENC Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping the Rams to a 2-1 record at the event over Labor Day Weekend.

The twosome were critical ingredients to straight set victories over Wellesley and Maine Presque Isle, which helped Suffolk start the year 2-1 for the second straight season. The win over the Blue marked the first in program history, while the sweep of the Owls kept the blue-and-gold unbeaten all-time against UMPI.

Johnson, a senior captain from Riverside, California, set up Suffolk's 11.89-kill per set offense over the three matches. She dished out 8.88 assist per set in addition to 1.44 dps. The 5-foot-6 setter chipped in nine kills of her own to the attack, as well as four aces from the service line. To open the year, Johnson registered 34 assists, two aces and one block in the 3-0 win over Wellesley. Against Eastern Nazarene, she had a 21-assist, seven-dig, one-ace state line. Johnson wrapped up the weekend with 25 assists, one ace, one dig and one kill.

Weber had a standout showing in her first collegiate matches with 3.75 kps, 0.88 dps and 0.25 bps over the weekend. In her Suffolk debut she led the attack with 13 kills on a .360 connection rate. The Miami, Florida product followed that up with eight kills and two digs against Eastern Nazarene and the sophomore concluded the weekend with a nine-kill, five-dig, two-block, two-ace effort in the sweep over UMPI.

The Rams will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 6 when they visit MIT for a 6 p.m. non-conference clash.
