Women’s Track & Field Runs at New England Outdoor Regional Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Over the weekend, Suffolk's women's track & field saw the largest contingent of Rams in program history compete at the New England Outdoor Regional Championships at Springfield's Blake Track. 

The 4x400 Relay team made up of Amanda WaldenAlyssa RodriguezEmily Concepcion and Jocelyn Triscik made more history as the first relay squad, male or female, to collect All-New England honors. The foursome combined for an eighth-place finish in the 14-team field with a time of program-record time 4:05.42 to capture the recognition.  

Concepcion set a Suffolk record of her own in the 400 as she made one lap around the track in 58.99 to finish 11th out of the two dozen runners.  

Walden was two spots outside of all-region distinction in the 100 as the claimed 10th with a time of 12.46. Lauren Wood also raced in the 100 and took 17th with a time of 13.04. Walden also participated in 200 and turned in a time of 26.13. 

Amy Pattelena rounded out the Rams individual runners in the 800 with a 2:21.33 showing, good for 19th.  

Suffolk also sent its 4x100 relay team made up of Wood, Rodriguez, Concepcion and Walden. That group clocked a 50.46 to finish 14th. 

Suffolk's student-athletes who qualified are due to compete at this weekend, May 12-13, at the NEICAAA Championships with MIT's Final Qualifier on tap for Saturday, May 18.
