CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Amanda Walden of the Suffolk women's outdoor track & field team was tabbed the Commonwealth Coast Conference Track Athlete of the Week after her standout performance at William & Mary's Colonial Relays Friday, the league office unveiled Monday.

Suffolk's sprinter competed in both the 100 and 200 in Williamsburg, Virginia. The meet featured several NCAA Division I competitors, pushing Walden to personal records in both events. In the 100, the Foxboro, Massachusetts posted a time of 12.47 and placed 33rd, while in the 200, she finished at 26.07, good for 40th. Both times qualified her for regionals and rank her in the top-100 on the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Qualifying List. She sits 45th in the 100 and 75th in the 200.

Walden is the second Suffolk student-athlete to be recognized by the league with a weekly award this season as Nicole DiBenedetto received CCC Field Athlete of the Week distinction a week ago. In her career, Walden now has two outdoor weekly honors from the CCC as she finished the 2022 regular-season with her first-such recognition May 2.

Walden and the Rams are back at it this weakened at the Jim Sheehan Invitational at Fitchburg State Saturday, April 8.
