Women's Outdoor Track & Field Sees Three Qualify for Regionals at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field made the most of its trip to Williamsburg, Virginia at the 57th Colonial Relays at William & Mary as all five Rams recorded new personal records and three clinched a spot at Division III Regionals later this season.

Ellie Davis started the day in the 5000. The graduate student from Port Washington, New York, ran the event in 17:57.168 to finish fourth in the 31-runner field that was field with Division I opponents including Annemarie Martell of New Hampshire who won the event with a time of 17:50.76. Davis' performance is the second-best by a Suffolk women's student-athlete in outdoor history falling behind Emma Weisse's 17:54.14 effort at Ocean State Invitational April 12, 2019.

Amanda Walden rewrote her own records as well as Suffolk's women's outdoor marks in the 100 and 200, respectively, and clinched a spot at regionals in the process. The junior ran the 100 in 12.47, good for 33rd in the 65-runner field, and clocked a 26.07 200 to lock up 40 of 73 opponents.

Emily Concepcion was also featured in the 200 field and put together a personal-record of 26.84. Concepcion, who sealed a spot at regionals in the 400 last weekend at Bridgewater State's BSU Bears Invitaitonal, made one lap around the track in 1:00.88 Friday.

Amy Pattelena and Jocelyn Triscik both competed in the 800. Pattelena logged a time of 2:20.72 to finish 22nd in the 63-runner field and earn her ticket to regionals. Triscik, meanwhile, had a personal-best of 2:25.83.

Suffolk's four female athletes with a spot at New England Division III Outdoor Regionals ties a program record, which was set by last season's squad.

The Rams will be back in action next weekend, Saturday, April 8 for Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite.
