Outdoor Track & Field Jet Sets to Colonial Relays

BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's outdoor track & field flew to Williamsburg, Virginia for William and Mary's 57th Colonial Relays at Walter J. Sable Stadium with a goal to come back to New England with eighth Division III New England Qualifiers.

Suffolk men's outdoor track & field got its 2023 underway over the weekend at the BSU Bears Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT [ WOMEN ] 
Suffolk women's outdoor track & field rewrote the Rams' record books over the weekend as three program records fell when the blue-and-gold began its outdoor campaign at the BSU Bears Invitational.

THE FIELD
The 57th Colonial Relays will be the largest outdoor event Suffolk competes at this spring with almost 250 schools competing including top Division I programs from Power 5 conferences such as Alabama, Ohio State, Duke and Clemson. 

The Rams will be one of a handful of Division III schools in attendance including nationally ranked NYU, John Hopkins and Lynchburg. 

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Amanda Walden (100, 200), Emily Concepcion (400), Amy Pattelena (800) and Ellie Davis (5k) will all aim to rewrite Rams' records. 
  • Concepcion will also race the 200 and Jocelyn Triscik will run along Pattelena in the 800. 
  • The blue-and-gold's women's 4x400 will compete on Saturday, April 1 and look to break the school record to join the 4x100 Relay Team with a top 5 regional ranking. 
  • For the men, Thomas Novy will run the 10k and Tim Barry will being the 800. Both are looking for Division III New England qualifying marks with Barry attempting to break Suffolk's 800 record.

"This will be a great opportunity for our top athletes to compete at an extremely high level to start the season," head coach Will Feldman said. "The forecast is calling for excellent conditions, and we're excited to see how fast we can run this weekend."

For the Suffolk will send the remaining Rams still in Boston to Tufts Snowflake Classic Saturday, April 1.
