Weisse Becomes First-Ever Suffolk Women’s Track & Field GNAC Corvias Athlete of the Week

BOSTON – Emma Weisse of the Suffolk women's track & field team made history Monday, April 23 as the sophomore was named GNAC Corvias Athlete of the Week, becoming the first Ram in program history to take home the honor.

Weisse recognition comes after the Hamden, Massachusetts, won the 5000 M at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational Saturday. The sophomore's time of 18:25.58 was 11.01 seconds quicker than second-place finisher to have the Ram cross the tape first in a field of 12.

Suffolk and Weisse are back in action this weekend as the Rams compete in their first-ever championship event, the GNAC Championships Sunday, April 29 hosted at Regis.
