Women’s Indoor Track & Field Takes 26th at New England D3 Championships

BOSTON – Suffolk women's indoor track & field team finished 26th at the New England Division III Championships at the Track at New Balance over the weekend. 

Amanda Walden anchored the blue-and-gold to its lone two points as the senior was the first Rams sprinter to secure points at the regional race with a seventh-place finish in the 200 with a time of 25.61. She also claimed a spot in the top-10 in the 60 with a personal-rest of 7.91 to put her in 10th of the 35-runner field that featured freshman JJ Conteh. Conteh claimed 23rd with an 8.04 in her regionals debut. 

Sydney Fogg finished in the middle of the 23-participant field in the 1000. The senior took 13th with a time of 3:06.30. 

The 4x400 Relay team of Walden, Kaylie GroomAlyssa Rodriguez and Fogg combined for a 4:10.96, good for 12th out of 22 relay squads. 

Devyn Battistoni was the first Suffolk pole vaulter to compete at regionals and cleared 3.23 meters to capture 15th.  

Suffolk has two events on the slate this weekend: NEICAAA Championships this Friday, March 1 and Tufts Last Chance National Qualifier Saturday, March 2 at the Gantcher Field House in Medford, Massachusetts.
