Indoor Track & Field Ends Semester at Beacon Invitational

BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's indoor track & field is scheduled to get its season underway at the Suffolk Relays Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Track at New Balance. It is the second straight season and second time in the program's history that the Rams will lift the lid on their indoor campaign as host. Throwing events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with track and jumping events set to follow at 10 a.m.

THE FIELD
A bakers dozen teams will battle at the Track at New Balance Saturday. In addition to Suffolk, NCAA Division III programs from Bridgewater State, Colby Sawyer, Emmanuel, Fitchburg State, Lasell, Rhode Island College and host UMass Boston are set to compete alongside Assumption, Bentley, Roxbury Community College and Sacred Heart. Club Sherman is also in the mix for this weekend.

"This will be a great opportunity for some of our more developmental athletes to compete and gain confidence heading into next semester," head coach Will Feldman said.  

RAMS TO RECOGNIZE [ MEN ] 

  • Tim Barry and Luke Sikora will both be attempting to qualifying for New England's in the 1000. 
  • In the mile, Hayden Green and Thomas Novy will be going for the win.  
  • Owen Campbell tied the school pole vault record in his collegiate debut, the Suffolk Relays, and can break it Saturday. 
  • Carter Nevulis is the top seed in the hurdles at the meet after punching his ticket to New Englands last weekend. 
  • Anthony Lovati will make his collegiate debut in the 60 and 200.

Suffolk men's indoor track & field had a pair of events on its opening-weekend calendar; the Suffolk Relays and Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

LAST TIME OUT [ WOMEN ] 
Suffolk women's indoor track & field got its 2023-24 campaign underway Saturday at the Suffolk Relays at the Track at New Balance. It was the second straight season the Rams put on their hosting hat to lift he lid on its campaign. This year 25 students in blue-and-gold were featured across 13 events in the season-opening event.

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams are away from action for over a month for finals and the holidays. Suffolk is set to start competition back up Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invitational at the Track at New Balance.
