Women’s Indoor Track & Field Emerges in USTFCCCA Polls

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's indoor track & field has made its way into the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional and events rankings this week.  

The Rams are on the verge of breaking the top 10 in the East as they slid into the 11th spot, the highest ranking in the program's short history. 

Event wise, ranks are determined by the top three athletes in each event from each team. The women's 5k trio of Ellie DavisSydney Fogg and Amy Pattelena have combined for the 25th-best in the country. The pole-vaulting crew, Molly HenneganKara Sickle and Sophia Echevarria, all Rams' rookies, sits 18th.  

It is the first time in Suffolk's history that track & field, men or women, had an event group in the top 25 nationally. 

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 4 when it travels to Plymouth, New Hampshire for the Panther Invitational II at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House at ALLWell North.
