BOSTON – Fresh off Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, the Suffolk men's and women's indoor track & field team will send a small number of Rams to the Wheaton Pre-Postseason Invitational Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT [ MEN ]
Suffolk men's indoor track & field captured the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship two years ago and got the jump done again today as the Rams coasted past is five conference counterparts to hoist the trophy for the second time in as many years the event has been held Sunday evening at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT [ WOMEN ]
Suffolk women's indoor track & field upstaged its runner-up finish from the inaugural conference championship as the Rams captured the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title Sunday at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center.

THE FIELD
Suffolk will be joined at the event by Brandeis, Colby Sawyer, Mount Holyoke, Wellesley and the host, Wheaton. 

RAMS TO KEEP AN EYE ON 

  • Suffolk's competing contingent Saturday are all trying to seal their spots at New Englands.
  • Tim Barry and Thomas Fidrocki will run the mile. 
  • Selvin BackertJustin Turner and Kely Maloney will make two laps around the track in the 800, while Robert Solari will make one loop around the track in the 400. 
  • Carter Nevulis will be the only blue-and-gold competitor in the jumping events as the freshman represents the Rams in the long jump. 
  • The women will concentrate on jumping and field events. 
  • Grace Dreher and Lauren Wood are set to leap in the high jump and long jump, respectively. 
  • Field event wise, Allison Rodrigues will test her shot in the shot put and Caitlyn Filloramo will participate in the weight throw.  

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk's student-athletes who qualified for regionals will take their talents to New England next weekend, Feb. 25-26. The men will compete at Middlebury in Middlebury, Vermont, while the women's event will be held at Colby in Waterville, Maine.
