Women’s Indoor Track & Field Participates at USM COVID Catch Up

GORHAM, Maine – Over the weekend, Suffolk women's indoor track & field got back into action at the USM COVID Catch Up. Two Rams recorded personal records, one had a season-best and Catherine Madden made her collegiate debut. 

Skylar Spanbauer was one of two student-athletes in blue-and-gold to notch a career-high as she clocked an 11:17.91 in the 3000. That time was not only the best of the senior's indoor career, but was good enough to top the eight-runner field.  

Grace Danehy logged a personal-best in the long jump She leaped 1.45 meters, just 0.02 shy of Nicole Benedetto. Danehy's leap was third, while Benedetto edged her out for second in the four-jumper field that also featured Shannon MacArthur, who cleared 1.35 meters. 

Danehy also competed in the long jump, where she finished third with a leap of 4.33, behind her teammate Lauren Wood, who cleared 4.92 to sit second in the seven-participant field. DiBenedetto, meanwhile, tried her hand in the triple jump and leaped 8.68 to take third.  

Madden made the most of her first collegiate meet as she sealed up second in 55 hurdles with a time of 9.80. 

Amanda Walden had her best-showing of the season in her pair of events the 55M Dash (7.85) and 200 (28.00) she finished third. Alicia Bibi was also in the 200 alongside Walden. Bibi placed 11th with a time of 31.89. 

Jocelyn Trisciak rounded out the Rams runners in the 800 with a second-place showing behind a time of 2:44.27. 

Suffolk saw a large contingent compete in the fielding events. Caitln Filloramo won the weight throw with a toss of 13.37 meters, while Allison Rodrigues captured the shot put with an 11.50-meter throw. Filloramo took fourth in the shot put as well in a field of 22 that also featured Michelle Riley (7th – 8.82), Gracie O'Connell (8th – 8.65), Lydia Comprosky (7.83 – 16th) and Leah Doucot (22nd – 5.67).  

The Rams will return to action this Saturday, Jan. 29 at Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational.
