Urbano Selected All-CCC Singles Second-Team

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Caren Urbano of the Suffolk women's tennis was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Singles Second-Team, the league office announced Friday.

The all-conference accolade is the second of the senior captain's career as she secured a spot on the league's singles third team last season. Urbano is the first Ram to collect multiple all-league honors in the CCC era and first since Ilda Ascic garnered a pair of all-conference singles team second-team selections from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2091, respectively.

Throughout her career Urbano was a staple as Suffolk's ace. This season she compiled a 4-6 overall record and went 1-3 versus conference counterparts.

Since joining the CCC in 2020, Suffolk has garnered five all-conference awards, a pair of CCC Scholar-Athletes in Ascic (2021) and Bianca Prescott (2022), and a duo of singles all-conference players – Sarah Mezini (first-team in 2021) and Urbano (second (2023) and third-team (2022)).

When combined with their previous achievements, the Rams have now earned 55 all-league honors – two scholar-athlete, six player of the year, three rookie of the year, 16 first-team singles, nine second-team singles and eight second-team doubles, dating back to 2007.
