BOSTON – Suffolk women's tennis starts a three-match week with back-to-back road bouts at Western New England and Nichols. The Rams stop by the Golden Bears Tuesday, Oct. 3 for a 3:30 p.m. CCC clash before battling the Bison Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's tennis seniors secured singles victories, but it would not be enough as Bridgewater State took down the Rams, 7-2, Thursday at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk built a 2-5 overall record and 1-1 CCC ledger through September.  

The Rams ace Caren Urbano is 3-4 on the year. She is a main part to Suffolk's usual No. 1 doubles team alongside Rachel Hill. That twosome is 1-4 on the year. Anastasiya Zakharava has compiled an impressive 5-2 singles mark exclusively from the fifth slot. 

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England heads into the week 2-3 overall and 1-1 in CCC contests. Prior to hosting Suffolk Tuesday, the Golden Bears visit Endicott Monday, Oct. 2.  

Emma Miller has held down WNE's top spot and holds a 2-3 mark. Sydney Shepard is the lone unbeaten Golden Bear exclusively in the sixth singles slot. 

Miller teams up with Jessica Cofrancesco as Western New England's top tandem. That duo is 1-4. Gianna Arace and Dani Martinez are the most successful double steam at 2-1 on court three. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2004, Suffolk sits 0-5 all-time against Western New England. 
  • Suffolk has slipped to WNE by 6-3 margins in the last two meetings. 
  • Suffolk is 0-3 at WNE and will play in Springfield, Massachusetts, for the second straight season. 
  • There has been one shutout in the series. The 9-0 triumph belongs to the Golden Bears and came Sept. 16, 2006. 

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols holds a 4-1 overall mark and 2-1 CCC record. The Bison's lone loss of the year came to Endicott, 6-3, Sept. 28. 

Antonia Carrero and Charis Vogler has split time as the Bison's ace. Carrero holds a 2-1 ledger, while Vogler sports a 1-1 mark. Johanna Schoreder is the most successful singles player for Nichols with an unblemished 5-0 record on courts two (3-0), three (1-0) and four (1-0). 

The doubles tandem of Carrero and Vogler have spent the most time as the top team. That twosome is 2-2 on the first court. Vogler has also partnered with Cora Brosch as the first doubles pair and they are 1-0.

  • Suffolk is 0-3 all-time versus Nichols. 
  • The Rams were swept by the Bison in the last meeting, Oct. 12, 2022.  

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
