Bridgewater State Bests Women’s Tennis, 7-2

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Suffolk women's tennis seniors secured singles victories, but it would not be enough as Bridgewater State took down the Rams, 7-2, Thursday at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bridgewater State swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead in the non-conference clash. The Bears continued to pick up points in singles play as they won battles on courts six and five to lock up the victory. BSU earned triumphs in the third and second singles slots as well to go up 7-0.  

Suffolk found its way on the scoreboard when senior Angela Gross defeated Yasmine Queen, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 4. Gross' classmate, Caren Urbano rallied for the Rams' second point as she bested Madeline Von Ruden, 2-6, 7-6 (12-10), 10-6 on court one for the 7-2 final.

3 – Yasmine Queen/Samantha Bettencourt (Bridgewater State) defeated Anastasiya Zakharava/Alex Kickham (Suffolk), 8-0

1 – Caren Urbano (Suffolk) defeated Madeline Von Ruden (Bridgewater State), 2-6, 7-6 (12-10), 10-6
2 – Mackenzie Silveira (Bridgewater State) defeated Rachel Hill (Suffolk), 6-3, 6-4
3 – Allison Carter (Bridgewater State) defeated Nia Bebb (Suffolk), 6-1, 6-1
4 – Angela Gross (Suffolk) defeated Yasmine Queen (Bridgewater State), 6-1, 6-4
