BOSTON – Riding momentum from its first win of the season, Suffolk women's tennis takes its talents to Rhode Island College Thursday, Sept. 14 for a 3:30 p.m. clash.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's tennis recorded its first victory of the season with a thrilling 5-4 decision over St. Joseph (Conn.) Tuesday night at The Elizabeth Speer Tennis Complex.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk sits 1-1 after falling at Simmons, 6-3, and defeating Saint Joseph (Conn.), 5-4. 

Caren Urbano has held down the Rams' ace spot and is unbeaten in singles play along with Nia Bebb and Anastasiya Zakharava, who have played in the third and fifth spots, respectively. 

The lone twosome to have a victory this year is the partnership of Urbano and Rachel Hill. The senior and junior sit 1-1 at No. 1.  

ANCHORWOMEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Rhode Island College sits 0-1 on the year after it fell to Salve Regina, 6-3.  

The Anchorwomen's team of Lauren Macera and Etrica Botelho are unbeaten (1-0) in doubles play as the top tandem.  

In singles action, Anna Vygoder and Li hsiu Hou sport 1-0 marks on the fourth and sixth courts, respectively. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2001, Suffolk sits 4-12 against Rhode Island College. 
  • The Rams will meet for the first time since Sept. 23, 2021 when RIC swept Suffolk, 9-0.
