BOSTON – On the morning of its debut, Suffolk women's tennis' head coach Drew Goldstein has named the senior tandem of Caren Urbano and Angela Gross as co-captains for the 2023 campaign.  

The pair is the third straight set to share the leadership role as the twosome takes over for Alyssa Blade and Bianca Precsott, who held the post last season. 

Suffolk has been led by two Rams for eight seasons in a row now.  

Urbano and Gross, who both joined Suffolk's squad as juniors last season, take the post for the first time in their collegiate careers. 

In 2022 Urbano held down the blue-and-gold's ace roll and earned a spot on the All-CCC Singles Third-Team. The Orlando, Florida product went 3-7 overall and 1-5 versus league foes in singles play. Gross, meanwhile, went 1-5 in singles play, exclusively in the sixth slot.  

Suffolk's season is set to get underway this afternoon, Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Simmons at 3:30 p.m.
