Suffolk women's tennis will serve as the host for the first time in 2021 this Saturday, Sept. 18 when it entertains Curry at Belmont Hill at 10:00 a.m.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's tennis dropped its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener to Salve Regina, 8-1, at Antone Center Courts Wednesday afternoon.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is 1-1 overall and winless (0-1) in CCC contests after falling to Salve Regina, 8-1, Sept. 15. 

Sarah Mezini and Ilda Ascic have split time as the Rams' ace. The former is 1-0 on court one, while the latter is 0-1. Ascic holds a 1-1 senior season record. The upperclassmen duo teamed up for the blue-and-gold's top tandem in the season debut. The pair is unbeaten when competing with one another. Along with Mezini, Dyani Mosquera is unbeaten in singles play as well with the freshman picking up her collegiate debut from the fifth spot.

CATCH UP ON THE COLONELS
Curry has traded losses with a win, a 7-2 decision at Eastern Nazarene, to sit 1-2 on the season. The Colonels opened their CCC calendar with an 8-1 setback at Roger Williams Sept. 15. 

Alexandra Borkov has proved why she plays as Curry's No. 1 as she holds an unblemished 3-0 ledger in singles action. Serena Wilson has also proven herself as a threat in singles with a 2-1 record all at No. 2. The twosome plays as the Colonels top doubles team and have put together a 1-2 mark through three outings.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The meeting will be the first between Suffolk and Curry according to the Rams' record books, which date through the 2007 campaign.
