BOSTON – Off to its best start since 2009, the undefeated Suffolk women's tennis team heads out on the road for the first time this season when it pays visit to Rhode Island College and UMass Dartmouth this week. The Rams will travel to Providence for a 4 p.m. match on Tuesday match with the Anchorwomen, before trekking to Dartmouth for a 3:30 p.m. showdown showdown with the Corsairs Thursday.

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time since 2009, the Suffolk women's tennis team opened its season 2-0 after sweeping Lesley, 9-0, Saturday afternoon at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols. 

The clean sheet combined with a 5-4 victory over Bridgewater State Thursday night has the Rams undefeated to open their 2015 season.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
For the first time since 2009, Suffolk opened its season with back-to-back victories to carry a 2-0 ledger into the second week of action. The Rams went match-for-match with Bridgewater State and their home opener, and walked away with a 5-4 win, before blanking Lesley, 9-0, Saturday afternoon. 

Four Rams boast undefeated individual singles records in Aidiana Sagyndkova (2-0), Valentina Medina (2-0), Abby Trigilio (2-0) and Lyndsay Reese (1-0). On the doubles court, Sagyndkova and Medina team up for a team-best 2-0 mark, while two other Suffolk duos are unbeaten. 

WHAT A START
With a 5-4 triumph over the Bears of Bridgewater State in its season opener, the Rams won its first match of the season for the first time in three years. Suffolk continued to add on 'firsts' this year when it swept Lesley to bring its overall record to 2-0, marking the best start to a season since matching that number in 2009.

A BIT ABOUT THE ANCHORWOMEN
When the Rams make the trip to Providence on Tuesday it'll make the first home contest for Rhode Island this season as the Anchorwomen debuted its 2015 schedule with three straight away matches. After suffering a 5-4 set-back at Clark, RICK picked up wins at Salve Regina (5-4) and Wentworth (8-1) to bring a 2-1 record into action versus the Rams. 

The Anchorwomen are unbeaten in on the third and fourth singles courts thanks to play by Julie Reddy and Tressa Cannata. In the top two flights, Dayna Reilly and Sadie Campanella hold 2-1 marks, at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Campanella and Jorgie Martin is the lone RIC doubles pair to hold more one win as the partnership is 2-0 in the second slot.

CATCH-UP ON THE CORSAIRS
UMass Dartmouth opened 2015 with a the Rams' fellow GNAC member Anna Maria. The Cats were no match for the Corsairs, however, as Dartmouth blanked Anna Maria, 9-0, to bring a 1-0 record into action Thursday. 

Jenna Kahaie held down the top singles court for the Corsairs, while Mollie McCaffrey and Samantha Rollings notched golden matches in the fifth and sixth positions, respectively. Kristen Rose and McCaffrey teamed up for the most decisive doubles point with a sweep on the third court. 

#RAMSFANFEST
Suffolk fans are invited to be a part of history Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Rams host their first soccer doubleheader at its new home turf, East Boston Memorial Park. The first Rams Fan Fest kicks off with a celebratory ceremony of Suffolk's partnership with East Boston before the women's soccer team hosts Lasell at 1:45 p.m., followed by the men's team battling Mount Ida at 4:30 p.m. The event begins at 12:30 p.m.
