Women’s Soccer Garners Bronze Team Ethics & Sportsmanship from United Soccer Coaches

UNITED SOCCER COACHES RELEASE

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third consecutive campaign, Suffolk women's soccer picked up a United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award in recognition of its exhibition of fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game. The Rams earned bronze status; the national organization announced.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to the United Soccer Coaches members at four levels. Team honors at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow or red card. Squads honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (31-50%) levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards receiving by players and coaches divided by the team's total number of games.

The Rams earned a spot in the bronze category after receiving just six yellow cards (31.6 percent) in Suffolk's 17th season, which consisted of 19 games. The blue-and-gold is one of 14 institutions in the bronze category and is only Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) representative on the 43-team list.

The distinction is Suffolk's ninth overall from the national organization in the Ethics & Sportsmanship category and marks the first time the Rams have collected three straight honors since stringing four in a row together from 2008 through 2011. The Rams have achieved the bronze level twice, 2017 and 2023.
