BRISTOL, R.I. – Suffolk women's soccer fell in its 2023 season finale, 2-0 to Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Roger Williams Tuesday at Bayside Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mya D'Antonio put Roger Williams on the board 6:06 into the action to put Suffolk in a one-goal hole it had to climb out of.  

The Rams had a chance to level the playing field at the 20:05 mark when Camille Morin-Trotta set up for a penalty kick. The rookie's try was off the mark and the one-goal margin remained until D'Antonio doubled the distance nearly 15 minutes later with her second strike of the day.  

Down 2-0 after the first half, Suffolk made a change in net as Arden Ferrari-Henry took over for Sophia Barker. The score stood still as neither team managed to put an attempt on target in the second set of 45 minutes. 

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Barker took the loss after allowing two goals. The sophomore stopped three shots. 
  • Ferrari-Henry did not face a shot in net in the second half for Suffolk. 
  • Coco Marrelli earned the shutout with a two-save effort.  

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Roger Williams held the advantage in shots, 13-6, and shots on target, 5-2. 
  • The Hawks had five corners, while the Rams took two corner kicks.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • A game between Suffolk and Roger Williams ended via shutout for the first time in program history.
