BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer ventures out to Springfield, Massachusetts, Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a midweek CCC contest at Western New England at 3:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's soccer put together a convincing 8-1 Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Nichols Saturday afternoon. Ten Rams contributed a point in the league win.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is having one of its best seasons to date as it enters the midweek match 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-0 in CCC contests.  

The Rams' 24-goal offense has seen 16 different players produce at least one point this season. Klaudia Rushianchors the well-balanced attack with nine points on a team-best four goals and one assist. Avery Porter has also found the back of the net four times as well, while Lily Goldmann rounds out the top trio in points with seven on three goals and one helper.  

Arden Ferrari-Henry has played the bulk of time in net. In 11 games played, all starts, she has assembled a 1.38 GAA and. 769 save percentage with a 6-3-2 ledger including three shutouts. Sophia Barker, meanwhile, has seen time in five games with one start. She holds a 1.20 GAA and .778 save percentage with a 1-0-0 ledger. 

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England tops the CCC standings with an unblemished 4-0-0 league ledger. The conference victories came over Curry (2-1), Wentworth (1-0), then-No. 24 UNE (1-0) and Roger Williams (2-0). Overall, the Golden Bears are 7-2-2 on the season.  

Liza Pinette's five goals powers WNE's 19-goal offense. Gabby Sansone is second on the squad with two goals and two assists. Jordan Pare and Lindsay Reidy share the third spot in points with two strikes and one handout each.  

Molly McLaughlin is the usual goalie for the Golden Bears, starting all, but one of the squad's 11 games. She holds a 0.86 GAA and .883 save percentage with a 6-2-2 mark and four cleansheets.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Wester New England series is fairly new, dating back to 2021. 
  • The Rams have yet to take down the Golden Bears, 0-2-0. 
  • Both contests between Suffolk and WNE have been decided via 1-0 decisions. 
  • Suffolk has yet to find the back of the net against the Golden Bears in the all-time series.

EYES ON THE GAME

RAMS RECOGNITION
Klaudia Rushi of the Suffolk women's soccer team picked up CCC Offensive Player of the Week after her two-goal offensive output in the 8-1 triumph over conference rival Nichols Saturday, the league office announced Tuesday.

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams return to East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium Saturday, Oct. 14 for a 3 p.m. showdown with Curry. The contest serves as Suffolk's The Hidden Opponent outing, which raises awareness for student-athlete mental health.
