A pair of Rams scored two goals in a nine-minute span to give Suffolk women's soccer lead it never let go of in a 2-1 win over Fitchburg State Tuesday afternoon at Elliot Field.

SUFFOLK IN CCC DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 0-2-0 in its CCC debuts. 
  • The Rams fell to Gordon, 2-0, in 2021 and dropped a 3-2 decision at Nichols last season. 
  • The Rams will face Wentworth in its first CCC contest of the season for the first time.
  • There has been one shutout in Suffolk's all-time CCC debuts, a 2-0 setback to Gordon.
  • At home Suffolk is 0-1-0 in its CCC openers. 
  • Suffolk has never scored a goal on its home turf in the first CCC contest of a campaign.
  • On the road the Rams are 0-1-0 in the first CCC game of the year. 

RAMS RUNDOWN
Thanks to its back-to-back victories, a 3-0 shutout of Mass. Maritime and a 2-1 triumph at Fitchburg State, Suffolk brings a 3-1-1 ledger into Friday's action.  

Makena Columbus and Avery Porter own two goals each of Suffolk's seven strikes this season. Kylie Flynn has multiple points on her stat line as well with one goal and one assist, while Chelsea Fallon and Daniela Petronio have found the back of the net once each. 

Adren Ferrari-Henry is the go-to starter for the Rams in net. The freshman holds a 1.11 GAA and .722 save percentage with an identical 3-1-1 record as the team.  

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth has yet to find the win column this year with losses to Lesley (2-0), Lasell (2-1) and Illinois Tech (2-0).  

Jenny Montville is responsible for the Leopards lone goal that was assisted by Meghan Barilone. 

Adrianna Arona (2.67 GAA, .667 save %) and Claire Reif (1.33 GAA, .778 save %) have split time in net for WIT. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Wentworth series started in 2021. 
  • The Rams are undefeated, 2-0-0, all-time against the Leopards. 
  • The blue-and-gold has outscored WIT, 6-1.
