HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk threatened early in the first frame as junior Kylie Flynn and classmate Chelsea Fallon put shots on frame, but Falcon keeper Madison Dawkins denied both chances.

Fitchburg State's best scoring opportunity of the first half with two minutes remaining in the stanza when senior Ashley Porter ripped a free kick on goal to have Rams netminder Arden Ferrari-Henry turn the shot aside to preserve the scoreless stalemate going into the break.

The Rams broke the 0-0 deadlock in the 58th minute when freshman Makena Columbus laced a shot into the right side of the net.

Suffolk doubled the distance to 2-0 at the 64:08 mark when Flynn collected a loose ball in front of the net and deposited the rock inside the left post thanks to a feed from rookie Camille Morin-Trotta.

Fitchburg State dented the scoreboard five minutes later when freshman Delia Fitzgerald received a pass from sophomore Adrianna Westcott and blasted a shot into the back of the net to make it a 2-1 margin with just over 20 minutes remaining.

The Rams controlled the action the rest of the way, but the score stayed the same as Dawkins stopped all five shots Suffolk put on target.
