MILTON, Mass. – Suffolk women's soccer fell in a three-goal hole in the first half it could not climb out of as Curry defeated the Rams, 3-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday at Walter M. Katz Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
All three of the Colonels' tallies came over a nine-minute span with the scoring starting in the 36th minute. Sydney Resendes capitalized on a Suffolk handball inside the box. The junior stepped up on the penalty spot and made no mistake, burying the PK into the bottom left corner of the net to put Curry on the board.  

Just over three minutes later, McKenna Reid buried a free kick from distance to double the distance to a pair. 

With under a minute to go in the first half, Samantha Borges added her name on the scoresheet with a goal to give the Colonels a comfortable 3-0 cushion at the half.  

Suffolk kept its persistent up in the second stanza and managed to make its way on the board in the 80th minute. Kylie Flynn converted a penalty kick to avoid being blanked by the Colonels, however, the Rams did not close the gap any further.  

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Sophia Barker had three saves to her credit. 
  • Hannah Correa registered six stops. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Flynn scored Suffolk's only goal of the outing. 
  • Each team took 13 shots. 
  • The Rams put one more shot on target than the Colonels, 7-6.
