Women’s Soccer Shutouts NEC, 3-0

EAST BOSTON – Paced by a two-goal effort from Klaudia Rushi and the netminding of Sophia Barker, Suffolk women's soccer blanked New England College, 3-0, Tuesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 3 | New England College 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (3-5-2) | New England College (0-7-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rushi got the scoring game just under 13 minutes into the first frame. The junior worked her way around two Pilgrims defenders and sent a shot high towards the net from the 20-yard line. The ball hit off Hollie Bomba's glove and fell into the back of the twine to give the host a 1-0 edge.

Hayley Long doubled the distance 15 minutes later. Kylie Perron led Long down the field with a sideline pass. Long received it for a one-on-one with Bomba, who came out of the net to make the play. Long capitalized with the goalie out of position and easily tucked the rock into the cage.

Rushi added to the Rams advantage in the 67th minute. Delaney Hall lofted a high pass to the captain, who waited at the 10-yard line and scored opposite to give Suffolk a 3-0 lead it would not reliniquish.
