FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Hayley Long's goal less than four minutes into the action proved to be the difference for Suffolk women's soccer as it took down Framingham State, 1-0, at Maple Street Field Saturday afternoon. The victory marks the first of the 2022 campaign and the first with Ellie McDougall on the sidelines.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Long redirected a strike from Kylie Flynn past the gloves of Jetta Oskirko to put the first and what would be the only tick on the board in the fourth minute.  

The visiting Rams saw chances to pad their lead, but Oskirko stood up to the tests throughout the first frame to keep it a one-goal game as the teams headed to the locker rooms.

Oskirko turned aside the trio of Suffolk's shots on target over the second set of 45 minutes and Sophia Barker did her job between the posts for the blue-and-gold for the 1-0 final in the Boston Rams' favor. 

NETMINDER NOTES

• Barker finished with three saves in her second victory of the season. 
• Oskirko registered nine stops in the setback. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

• Long produced the only goal of the outing. 
• Flynn handed out the lone assist.
