Offense Strikes Often in Women’s Soccer 6-0 Win at Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. – Suffolk women's soccer potted three goals in each half, with Aislinn Servaes responsible for a natural hat trick in the first frame, to take down Eastern Nazarene, 6-0, Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 6 | Eastern Nazarene
RECORDS: Suffolk (4-2-0) | Eastern Nazarene (2-5-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ten minutes into the action Suffolk broke open the scoring. Kylie Flynn kicked a corner out to Jazmya Harris, who looked to center a pass. The ball split a handful of Lions and found Seraves at the five-yard line. The Rams' rookie swiftly lofted the rock high enough to the cross bar and bounce in.

The second strike came two minutes later. Lily Christian and Servaes had a two-on-two with an ENC defender and goaltender Sophia Fevola. Christian took the ball down the right side of the field to draw over the defender. Once the Lion fully committed to Christian, she slid it over to a sprinting Servaes at the top of the box, who tucked the ball into the top right to make it a two-goal game. The play started on a short goal kick from Allison Rodrigues to Harris, who played the ball up the field to Christian.

Servaes completed the natural hat trick just about three minutes later. Once again, the play started at the opposite end of the field, Rodrigues' goal kicked landed in the Lions' zone where the host's stalled the blue-and-gold. Alicia Bibi managed to play the ball over Eastern Nazarene's defenders and Servaes walked in for a one-on-one with Fevola. ENC's netminder gobbled up Servaes first attempt, but the ball rebounded right to Servaes who easily taped it past the goal line. Servaes third goal of the night came in less than a five-minute span of her first to push the distance to 3-0.

Eastern Nazarene switched out its set of gloves to start the second set of 45 minutes as Jasmine Arzu came in to take over for Fevola. The rested goalie was no match for a surging Suffolk as the visitors padded their cushion to four 2:27 out of half time. Nicole Morin-Trotta netted a one-time shot into the right side of the net thanks to a set-up by Flynn to push the margin to four.

Flynn joined Suffolk scores at the 61:13-minute mark. The freshman turned a free kick in the Rams' fifth goal of the night as she elevated the kick over the Lions three-player wall from the left 14-yard line into the same side upper corner.

Suffolk continued to climb further away from Eastern Nazarene. The blue-and-gold bounced zig-zag passes from its own 20-yard line to the Lions' 20-yard line where Harris was for a breakaway that led to the Rams' sixth goal of the day. The goal was assisted by Emily Egan.
