BOSTON –
Suffolk women's soccer will wrap up its homestay in historic fashion Saturday, Sept. 18 as the Rams showdown with Gordon marks the program's first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest. Kick-off at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

RESIDENT RAMS DAY
Suffolk Athletics will host promotions, giveaways and special events throughout the 2021-22 year with the first on the calendar on Saturday, Sept. 18.

On the first Saturday of September that multiple Suffolk University fall teams – men's and women's soccer and volleyball -- will be hosting events, Ram Nation will celebrate its resident hall students in a Resident Rams day. Tenants of one of Suffolk's five on-campus residence halls, who attend one of Suffolk's home events on Saturday, Sept. 18 will receive a special-edition Suffolk Athletics Resident Rams t-shirt.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time in program history, Suffolk women's soccer took down Lesley and did so in shutout fashion as Allison Rodrigues stood tall in net to backstop the 2-0 victory Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk saw its Tuesday, Sept. 14 tilt against Fisher postponed, which sidelined the 3-1-0 Rams since they last blanked Lesley, 2-0, Sept. 11.  All three of the blue-and-gold's triumphs have come in front of its home crowd in Eastie. 

Lily Christian leads the offensive unit with team-best numbers in goals (3) and points (7). The freshman has produced a goal in 75 percent of Suffolk's games (3-4). Aislinn Servaes is second on the squad with three points evenly divided between goals (1) and assists (1). Kylie Flynn boasts a team-high in set-ups with a pair of helpers to her credit. 

Allison Rodrigues has played every minute in net for the Rams. The senor brings in a 0.50 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon (2-1-0) jump started its season with back-to-back shutouts, a 1-0 decision at New England College, and an offensive onslaught 7-0 victory against Eastern Nazarene, before being blanked 2-0 at Worcester State. 

Four players are responsible for the Fighting Scots eight goals. Shelby Jones is the biggest offensive threat with three goals and one assist, while Calla Ashley and Kristi DiRico have each potted the rock twice. Casey Miller rounds out the goal scorers with one marker.

Tori Paine is Gordon's go-to goalie. Paine has started all three of the Fighitng Scots games and built a 0.78 GAA and .0778 save percentage. Karinne Walther has seen limited action in net this year.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Gordon have met four times since 2011.
  • The Rams have never beaten the Fighting Scots, 0-4-0.
  • The teams last met Sept. 9, 2015 when Suffolk fell at Gordon, 8-0.

EYES ON THE GAME

RAM OF THE WEEK
Suffolk saw six of its eight fall teams in action and Ram Nation had the chance to determine the standout student-athlete of Sept. 6-13 via a Twitter Poll in the second edition of Ram of the Week of 2021-22. Allison Rodrigues earned 71 percent of the over 50 votes cast to pick up Ram of the Week accolades after a 1-1-0 week in net for the women's soccer team with a 1.00 GAA and a .875 save percentage. Her victory, a 2-0 shutout over Lesley, marked the first triumph over the Lynx in program history.
