BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey caps off its 2023 portion of its sixth varsity season with an action-packed weekend. The Rams will host Connecticut College at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink Friday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m., before traveling to West Springfield, Massachusetts, to face Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Western New England at 7:30 p.m.

Suffolk women's hockey fell to the University of New England, 2-1, Saturday in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk holds a 3-8-1 overall record and sits 2-5-1 in CCC contests after going 0-1-1 versus UNE last weekend.  

Jenna Caballero and Lilian Moose hold identical two-goal, six-assist stat lines to power the Rams' 23-goal offense. 

Lily O'Neil has taken on the bulk of the workload in net. Through eight games played, the senior holds a 2.60 GAA and .913 save percentage. 

CAMELS CATCH UP
Connecticut College blanked UMass Boston, 1-0, Tuesday night to bring a 3-3-1 ledger to Eastie Friday night.  

Serena Seiple leads the Camels offense with three goals and five points. Sydney Cresta (2g, 2a) and Kate Hagness (1g, 3a) have been consistent contributors to the scoring as well with four points apiece.  

Devon Galizio (GP, 1.46 GAA, .941 save%) and Jillian Wexler (3GP, 2.69 GAA, .871 save%) have split time in between the pipes for Conn. College.   

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has yet to defeat Connecticut College, 0-3-0. 
  • The Rams and Camels will meet for the fourth time overall, first since Nov. 22, 2022, a 2-1 Suffolk setback. 
  • Suffolk has hosted Conn. College once, Jan. 11, 2022. 
  • On the road, the Rams are 0-2 versus the Camels.

Western New England (5-2-2, 5-2-1 CCC) rides a three-game win streak into the weekend that opens for the Golden Bears Friday, Dec. 8 at Trinity before their Saturday showdown with Suffolk.  

Alyssa Murphy leads WNE in every offensive category with four goals, eight assists and 12 points. Maggie Holt (1g, 7a) is a constant in the offensive conversation as well as Maddie Pope (3g, 3a) and Jenna Lynch (2g, 3a). 

Rieley Jessie-Gerelli has started all, but two games in net for the Golden Bears. She brings in a 0.98 GAA and .970 save percentage. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • After falling in the first-ever meeting with Western New England, the Rams have won five in a row versus the Golden Bears to sit 5-1-0 all-time. 
  • All, but two games between Suffolk and WNE have been shutouts. 
  • Suffolk is 3-1-0 in shutouts against the Golden Bers. 
  • On the road the Rams are 2-1-0 versus WNE.
