BOSTON – The consolation contest of the 16th annual Codfish Bowl will be a Beantown Battle as Suffolk women's hockey is set to take on UMass Boston at 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at Edward T. Barry Rink.

Suffolk women's hockey came out on the wrong side of a 2-1 decision as the Rams slipped to Bowdoin in the opening game of the 16th Codfish Bowl hosted by UMass Boston Saturday at Edward T. Barry Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk moved to 2-7-0 on the year after slipping to Bowdoin, 2-1, in the opening game of the 16th annual Codfish Bowl Saturday.  

The Rams' 16-goal offense has seen 17 different players produce at least one point. Liliana Moose leads the offensive output with six points on two goals and four assists. Jenna Caballero has chipped in five points on four helpers and one strike. Both Alessia Di Silvestro (2g, 2a) and Jenny Drevitch (1g, 3a) have produced four points apiece.  

Both Rams' netminders have played five games in Izzy Buckett (2.83 GAA, .905 save %) and Lily O'Neil (3.46 GAA, .904 save %). 

BEACONS BREAKDOWN
UMass Boston (3-4-3) was edged by No. 2 Amherst, 1-0, Saturday to land in the consolation contest of the 16th annual Codfish Bowl. 

Margeaux Butters (3g, 1a) and Katie Wilbert (4a) power the Beacons scoring unit with four points apiece. The trio of Allie Reifler (2g, 1a), Ana Gustafson (1g, 2a) and Liz Kramp (1g, 2a) are offensive threats as well for UMB. 

In net, Leah Bosch has played the bulk of time. She sports a 1.19 GAA and .959 save percentage with three shutouts to her credit.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk sits 3-3-1 overall against UMass Boston. 
  • The Rams fell to the Beacons, 2-1, in the last meeting, Oct. 29, 2022. 
  • The blue-and-gold's last win over UMB came Oct. 30, 2021, 5-4.

Suffolk returns to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play next weekend, Dec. 1-2, with a home-and-home series versus University of New England on tap. The Rams will trek to Biddeford, Maine, Friday for a 7 p.m. clash, before hosting the Nor'Easters at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink at 4:50 p.m.
