BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey begins opens its Commonwealth Coast Conference slate this weekend in a home-and-home series versus Salve Regina. The Rams host the Seahawks in their home opener at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m., before traveling to Middleton, Rhode Island Saturday, Nov. 4 4 for a 7 p.m. showdown.

Suffolk women's hockey fell in the consolation contest of the Utica Kick-Off Tournament to No. 12 Elmira Saturday at the Nexus Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is in search of its first victory of the year after slipping to a pair of nationally ranked foes at the season-opening Utica Kick-Off Tournament.  

The Rams' two goals came off the sticks of Ashley Bialas and Sammy Lassman. Four blue-and-gold skaters have one assist in Jenny DrevitchSam MolindLiliana Moose and Leslie Steiner

Lily O'Neil (6.00 GAA, .829 save %) and Izzy Buckett (5.00 GAA, .894 save %) each started one goal in net for Suffolk.  

SEAHAWKS SAYINGS
Salve Regina started its year with a 4-1 win over Johnson & Wales Saturday to bring a 1-0-0 record into the weekend action.  

The Seahawks four goals were scored by four different players in Ashytn Bringarder, Jillian Egan, Gina Richard and Jennifer Rickard. Six different skaters have one assist to their credit. 

Elle Kopecky allowed just one goal and had 17 saves in SRU's season debut.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is unbeaten, 6-0-0, all-time versus Salve Regina. 
  • Three of the six outings between the Rams and Seahawks have been shutouts. The last cleansheet came via a 2-0 decision Nov. 4, 2022 in Middletown, Rhode Island. 
  • At home, Suffolk sports a 3-0-0 record versus SRU. 
  • On the road, the Rams are 3-0-0 against the Seahawks. 
  • Suffolk has outscored SRU, 20-4, in the all-time meetings.

CONFERENCE DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 4-0-0 in its first conference contest of the year. 
  • The blue-and-gold will play Salve Regina in the CCC opener for the second straight season. 
  • The Rams will play at home in their first CCC game of the year for the third time, first since 2021-22.  
  • Suffolk is 2-0-0 when playing its league debut on its home ice. 
  • Suffolk has never needed extra time to decide a winner in its first league game of the season. 
  • There has been two shutouts in the Rams first conference contest of the campaign; their first-ever conference game, a 3-0 cleansheet over Johnson & Wales, Nov. 3, 2018, and last season's 2-0 triumph over Salve Regina, Nov. 4, 2022.  

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams will tangle with Nichols in a CCC home-and-home series next weekend, Nov. 10-11. The Rams battle the Bison in Harrisville, Rhode Island Friday at 5:40 p.m., before hosting the Bison Saturday at Porrazzo Rink at 4:50 p.m.
