AHCA RELEASE | KRAMPADE ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLARS

BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey saw four players pick up Krampade All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) for the 2021-22 campaign, the national organization announced.

Two of the three Rams are first time honorees in junior Cassidy Gruning and freshman Vanessa Stuart, while sophomore Lily O'Neil and freshmen Hannah Gordon took home the distinction for the second time in as many seasons.

To qualify, a student-athletes must have attained a 3.75 grade point average for each semester, and, with the seasons back in full swing following the untraditional 2020-21 season, the AHCA reinstated the play component of appearing in 40 percent of the team's games, however, exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.

All, but one of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) seven women's hockey programs were represented on the list that featured 320 Division II-III women. Suffolk's four honorees were among 36 CCC players to be recognized for their work in the classroom. Endicott has the most with 11, while 10 came from Nichols. Both the University of New England and Western New England each had four, while Curry tied Suffolk with three selections. For a full list of honorees, click here.
