BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey turns its attention to the University of New England and Nichols this weekend Feb. 11-12. The Rams will entertain the Nor'Easters Friday, before the blue-and-gold battle the Bison on the road Saturday at 4:40 p.m.

Prior to the Suffolk, UNE 6 p.m. outing at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink in Eastie, the Rams and Nor'Easters will host a ceremonial puck drop recognizing the inaugural season of Commonwealth Coast Conference women's hockey. Suffolk's men's cross country and track & field captain Matyas Csiki-Fejer will drop the puck in the ceremony

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

CCC CELEBRATION
During the month of February, each of the seven CCC women's ice hockey teams will be hosting a special recognition game in which each campus community will salute the talented young women who represent their institutions and the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

BUY A PIECE OF HISTORY
Ram Nation now is your chance to take a piece of history home with you as Suffolk women's hockey will be selling limited edition "Winningest" shirts to benefit OneTrack International. 

Shirts may be purchased at the Rams' Senior Game, Friday, Feb. 18 against Endicott. Fans are encouraged to arrive to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink in East Boston prior to the 6 p.m. puck drop to not only pick up their piece of history, the commemorative t-shirt that will be sold for $20, but watch the Senior Day ceremony that will honor the first four-year recruiting class in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's hockey team picked up three additional Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) points, while recording its program-best 16th win of the season, in a 3-0 shutout of Salve Regina Tuesday evening at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk heads into the weekend 16-3 overall and 11-2 in the CCC, good for second place in the standings. 

The Rams' offense is the most threatening in the league with 71 goals in 19 games for a 3.74 goals per outing average. Three different skaters have surpassed the 20-point mark with Shana Cote holding a league-best 32 points on her stat line. The senior forward not only leads the team with 17 goals and 15 assists, but sits atop the conference in all offensive categories as well. Sofia Scilipoti (9g, 13a) and Maddy Burton (12g, 9a) are having standout seasons on the offensive end as well.

In net, Suffolk cycles through three different netminders. Lily O'Neil has seen the most action, 10 games including nine starts. The sophomore holds a .917 save percentage and 2.04 GAA. Hannah Gordon and Julia McLellan are unbeaten in between the pipes. Gordon boasts .935 save percentage and 1.38 GAA for a 5-0-0 record. McLellan has built a 4-0-0 ledger behind a .905 save percentage and 2.06 GAA.

NOR'EASTER NOTES
The University of New England tied Western New England, 2-2, and fell at then-No. 10 Endicott, 3-1, last weekend to bring a 6-10-2 overall mark and 6-6-2 CCC record into Friday's battle. 

Carolyn Curley is the lone Nor'Easter will double digit points through 18 games with 11 to her credit behind seven strikes and four handouts. Three skaters share second on the squad in points with eight apiece in Piper Desorcie (6g, 2a), Meghan Hamiliton (4g, 4a) and McKenna Remillard (3g, 5a).

Delanie Corcoran is UNE's main goalie. She owns all six of the team's wins behind a .924 save percentage and 2.29 GAA. Kaleigh Lauredeau has defended the pipes in six games for the Nor'Easters. She brings in a .909 save percentage and 2.87 GAA.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept the home-and-home series with the University of New England Nov. 19-20. The Rams took down the Nor'Easters in overtime in Eastie, 3-2, before rolling to a 4-1 win on the road.

EYES ON THE GAME

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols (12-7-1, 7-6-1 CCC) takes a five-game win streak into the weekend that starts at Curry Friday, Feb. 11. 

Six different skaters have produced double figures in points with Isabella Portt's 20 leading the way. She owns nine goals and 11 set-ups. Mel McAleer is second on the squad with 19 points has a team-best 12 assists to go along with seven goals. Megan Buxton (10g, 7a), Alicia Hunks (6g, 10a), Kara Santoro (6g, 10a) and Lauren Rokala (6g, 5a) are consistent threats offensively as well. 

Victoria Bakopanos and Jullia Carroll take turns in net. Bakopanos brings in a .955 save percentage and 1.46 GAA, while Carroll has a .914 save percentage and 1.87 GAA.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk defeated Nichols in back-to-back battles in mid-January to sweep the home-and-home series with the Bison. The Rams outscored the Bison 7-3 in those two outings.
