CCC Celebrates Women’s Ice Hockey Inaugural Season

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Throughout the month of February, the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) is recognizing the inaugural season of CCC Women's Ice Hockey.

The 2021-22 season marks the first year that the seven CCC women's ice hockey teams have been competing under the Commonwealth Coast Conference banner. The CCC was originally scheduled to begin conference competition in women's ice hockey during the 2020-21 season, but the global pandemic severely impacted college athletics in many unforeseen ways.

During the month of February, each of the seven CCC women's ice hockey teams will be hosting a special recognition game in which each campus community will salute the talented young women who represent their institutions and the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The CCC champion will earn an automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship.

Each game will feature a ceremonial puck drop with select team members. Commemorative pucks and t-shirts will also be available on a limited basis. Check with your host institution and both CCC and institutional social media channels for further details.
