CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – For the third consecutive week, the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week has hailed from Suffolk women's hockey as Shana Cote earned the recognition again on the heels of a seven-point performance in a 2-0-0 week, the league office announced.

The distinction is the senior captain's second of the season and third of her career. With Cote's second honor, Suffolk has picked up all three of the CCC's best player over a seven-day stretch this season and in the league's short history as Sofia Scilipoti took home both player and rookie of the week status Nov. 8.

In the Rams' CCC debut, the Broomfield, Colorado, native scored one goal, on the power play, and handed out one assist in the 3-2 decision at Curry Nov. 12. A day later, the forward was crucial to Suffolk resetting the program's single-goal mark as she had a hand in half (5) of the Rams' 10 strikes. Her career-high five points were behind one goal and a personal-best four assists.

Cote has been crucial to Suffolk's 6-0-0 season, the program's best-ever start. Not only does she lead the Rams' 32-goal offense, but is one of the top sticks in NCAA Division III. She is also the best forward in the face-off dot in D3 this season with 97 wins, with 66.7 face-off win percentage this year.

Suffolk is back in action this weekend as it takes on the University of New England in a home-and-home series. The Rams will welcome the Nor'Easters to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink Friday, Nov. 19 for a 6 p.m. puck drop, before the blue-and-gold buses up to Biddeford, Maine the next day, Saturday, Nov. 20 for a 4 p.m. tangle.
