Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championships

JACKSONVILL, N.C. – Suffolk women's golf got its 2024 spring slate underway at the three-day Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship over the weekend at the Paradise Point Golf Course on the Marine Corps Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina.  

Suffolk, who played out of the Northeast for the first time in program history, compiled a 54-hole team score of 1009 to finish eighth in the 11-team field, just one stroke behind Feiffer (1008) and one ahead of Shenandoah (1010). Rose-Hulman won the event, which is in the second-year with a women's bracket and 51st overall, with a 944.  

Ellie Yarbrough headlined the Rams on the course with an 11th-place performance. The senior improved each day on the course as her 244 came behind an 80, 77 and 74. 

Isabel Smith took 20th with 246 and five strokes behind her was Brooke Bugajewski in 31st.  

Ella Torsleff (272) and Sophie Kiley (285) rounded out the Rams in action in the Tar Heel State in 46th and 50th, respectively.  

Suffolk returns to the Northeast where it will compete in Cortland, New York next weekend, April 13-14, at the Cortland Martin/Wallace Invitational at the Cortland Country Club.
