BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf has its first dual match of 2023 in store Saturday, Sept. 23 when it heads to up-state New Hampshire to take on Keene State at the Keene Country Club at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's golf shot an 18-hole record each day at the Ithaca Invitational at the RaNic Golf Club to claim second in the six-team field.

THE COURSE
Keene Country Club golf course, designed by Wayne Stiles in 1923 and updated over time, offers constant challenge without undue punishment. 

The 18-hole course, par 72 for men and women, measures 6,455 yards, a slope of 130 with an index of 71.5 from the back tees.  

OWLS OUTLOOK
Keene State has two events under its belt. The Owls fell to Saint Anselm in their season opener, the Keene State Invitational Sept. 9, before capturing the three-time Westfield State Invitational, eight days later. 

Madison Mousely paced Keene State on the links for each contest. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Keene State will face one another for the first time.  

RAMS RECOGNITION
For the first time in program history, Suffolk women's golf swept a league's weekly awards as Isabel Smith and Brooke Bugajewski were named player and rookie of the week, respectively, by the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC). The awards come after the Rams performances at the Ithaca Invitational Sept. 16-17.

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams have a pair of one-day tournaments at the Shaker Farms Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts, next weekend. On Saturday, Sept. 30, Suffolk will compete in the NWGC Fall Classic. The following day, Sunday, Oct. 1, the blue-and-gold will tee off at the NWGC Fall Invitational.
