Women’s Golf Sits Second After Day One of Ithaca Invitational

DAY 1 INDIVIDUAL RESULTS | ROUND 2 PAIRINGS

ITHACA, N.Y. – Less than a week away from rewriting its 18-hole team record, Suffolk women's golf did it again with its day one score of 326 at the Ithaca Invitational Saturday at the RaNic Golf Club. 

The top four Rams combined for a 326 to sit in second place behind invite host Ithaca, who holds a 316. Suffolk's Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) counterparts SUNY Cortland (340) and St. John Fisher (359) are third and fifth, respectively, with Westminster (341) between the Red Dragons and Cardinals. Saint Lawrence rounds out the six-team field with a 386.

Senior Isabel Smith anchored the blue-and-gold on the course with a 79, good for fourth in the 39-golfer field. Sophomore Ella Torsleff shares sixth with an 81, while freshman Brooke Bugajewski, who is in the midst of her collegiate debut, and senior Ellie Yarbrough are in a five-way tie for ninth with an 83. 

Sophie Kiley rounds out the Ram at the invite with a day one card of 83, good for a share of 24th.

Day two action gets underway tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m.
